Skinny Mango and Coconut Smoothie

Bakingyummies

Mangoes are here!!!! One of my friends had requested me to make a cake for a reunion party that he was throwing. The flavor that he requested was mango! Really? I had never used mango in a cake you see. I was skeptical and he was adamant. So I gave in and baked a mango cake.

I had to buy half a dozen of them as that's the least quantity that's sold here. Besides eating them, I decided to make a smoothie as well that included coconut in liquid form. Coconut water actually.

Let me tell you few benefits of coconut water if you aren't aware. Coconut water helps detox your body by flushing out harmful bacteria and keeping you hydrated. Coconut water helps you stay hydrated because it’s an excellent source of electrolytes, and one 8.5-ounce serving has fifteen times more potassium than most sports drinks. Potassium is one of the electrolytes that helps your body replace and retain the fluids needed to operate most efficiently.

This smoothie has got just 154 calories :) More reason to enjoy this very refreshing and tasty drink!

Add all the ingredients to a blender.

Start the blender at the lowest and increase the speed gradually. Whip until the smoothie is of a smooth consistency. Blend at the highest speed for another 30 to 45 seconds to incorporate air and lighten the smoothie.
